Today was my last day in Alta Floresta. First I went to speak to some people who write in the local newspaper and then I went to one of the teacher’s farms for lunch. It is very sad to leave the ‘little town with the big heart’ – I have made lots of good friends here.

I went to Rhos Street school in Ruthin in Wales. The children had been learning about animals in the Arctic and they asked if I would tell them about some of the rainforest animals. They acted out ‘The Very Last Tree’ for their families and friends. They were all very nice to me and I hope I can go back again soon.

The Tilbury and Bethune Youth Theatre acted out ‘The Very Last Tree’ for their families and friends. Jack made a very good chainsaw out of an old plastic bottle.
