Today I stayed in a town called Bowen. I went snorkelling in the sea and used a special card that Diane gave me to see how healthy the coral is. I matched the coral to the colours on the card and then put the information on to a special website that is used to monitor coral reefs all around the world.
Today I visited the Reef HQ aquarium in Townsville. I met a lady called Laura who teaches children all about the reef. She helps a lot of pupils to do projects that make their schools more environmentally-friendly. In the afternoon I watched a film about the Great Barrier Reef and found out lots of interesting information.
Today I have started to draw some pictures for the book. The children from Swanland School in England decided that the story should be about an underwater city and the children from Mitchelton School in Australia gave me ideas for how the characters could try to save the reef.
